Twenty-five dollars. The cost could buy a children's t-shirt, dinner for two, a dvd, or your life. That is correct. The cost of a slave on the market today is merely twenty-five to seventy-five dollars. How would that feel...if somebody put a price-tag on your life? Shows how much we value human life, huh. -anonymous- |

Back in the eighteen-hundreds, the cost of a slave was nearly fifty-thousand dollars. Compare that to today's rate. This makes slaves indespensable and replaceable. Imagine that, your life...replaceable. And don't bother to think that the numbers have dramatically decreased since then. Now, there are more slaves than ever in history. There are currently twenty-seven million slaves all over the world. Half of these are children. And 150,000 of them are in America. Are we still the land of the "free" and the home of the "brave", if the free are enslaved and the brave don't stop it? Didn't think so. |
